Actor-Director Satish Kaushik passes away at 66; tributes being paid
Bollywood actor and director Satish Kaushik passed away at 66. The news came out in the early hours of Thursday. Satish Kaushik reportedly succumbed to a heart attack while travelling in a car. Doctors tried restoring Kaushik but he breathed his last on March 9 on Thursday morning. He was widely known for his memorable roles in Indian cinema like Calendar in Mr India.
His body has been taken to Deendayal Hospital for postmortem and is expected to be handed over to his family at around 3 pm, following which his last rites will be conducted. The news of Kaushik’s death was confirmed by his friend and National Award-winning actor Anupam Kher in a tweet.
Anupam Kher shared a black-and-white picture of himself and Satish Kaushik and tweeted a heartfelt message on his friend’s demise, “I know ‘death is the ultimate truth of this world!’ But I never thought in my dreams that I would write things about my best friend Satish Kaushik while alive. Such a sudden full stop on a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH! Om Shanti!”
Other Bollywood celebrities and personality expressed their condolence to Satish Kaushik’s family and tribute to the legendary actor-director.
Taking to Twitter, Kangana shared a picture featuring herself and Satish Kaushik as they shook hands. She wrote, “Woke up to this horrible news, he was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director Satish Kaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti.”
Manoj Bajpayee reacted to a tweet about Satish’s death. He wrote, “Completely shocked to read this! What a great loss for all of us and his family! Condolences to his family and friends! May you rest in peace Satish Bhai (brother)!”
Actor Soni Razdan tweeted, “Sad beyond belief at this tragic news.” Soni also shared a post and wrote, “Shocked and heartbroken to hear our contemporary @satishkaushik2 is no more. Many of us met him for the first time while we were shooting Mandi. He was a jolly gentle soul always laughing. It’s very hard to believe he’s gone. RIP dear Satish we will miss you terribly.”
Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan took to her Instagram Stories and re-shared a post. She wrote, “Too sudden and too sad..the kindest, happiest man.”
Actor Arbaaz Khan shared a bunch of pictures on Twitter with the late actor. The photos also starred his brothers Salman Khan and Sohail Khan. He wrote, “RIP Satish ji. You will be missed. Om Shanti.”
