Condolences to Indian families by Vladimir Putin, Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president expresses condolences to families who lost their beloved in the Morbi collapse.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the families of the people who lost their lives in the collapse of the cable bridge in the Morbi city of Gujarat. The accident took place on Sunday evening.

Addressing a heartfelt message to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “Dear Ms. President, dear Mr. Prime Minister, please accept my heartfelt condolences over the tragic bridge collapse in the state of Gujarat.” The message was published on the Kremlin website on Monday.

President Putin also addressed his words of sympathy, condolence, and support to the families and friends of the people who lost their lives in the accident and also to the people who are injured and are in recovery, state-owned TASS news agency reported.

Condolences to Indian families by Vladimir Putin, As per the reports, over 130 people lost their lives in the accident. The cable bridge that collapsed was approximately a century old. The cable bridge was reopened recently after some construction/ repairs and renovation work was finished. More than or around 400 people visited the cable bridge in the evening when the accident occurred. The cause of the accident and collapsing of the cable bridge is stated because of the overburden that was put on the bridge. According to authorities, the cable bridge can only withstand approx 100 people’s weight. As mentioned, around 400 people were on the bridge which eventually makes the bridge dangerously overburdened. Also, the bridge is 142 years old which can also be considered as the cause of the disastrous accident that took place.

Prime minister Narendra Modi announced Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to each of the injured.
