Pakistan Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan was shot during a protest march in Wazirabad in eastern Punjab, on Thursday. He was delivering a speech during the protest when he was shot by a bullet.
Pakistan Ex-PM Imran Khan shot during a protest march, “He is being taken to a hospital in Lahore, but he is not seriously wounded. A bullet hit him in the leg,”- party leader Asad Umar informed the reporters.

“I condemn the incident of firing on PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the strongest words. I have directed the Interior Minister to an immediate report on the incident. I pray for the recovery and health of the PTI chairman and other injured people.”- Pakistan prime minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote on Twitter.

AFP reported that the person suspected of the attack was shot dead. Also, the gunman caught by police stated that he acted independently. Adding to that he said he wanted to kill Imran Khan because “he was misleading the people”.

“Shortly before this video, Imran Khan called and told us to convey this message to the nation on his behalf that three people – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, interior minister Rana Sanaullah and a senior military officer (Maj Gen Faisal Naseer of the ISI) – are behind the assassination attempt on him,”- PTI secretary general and lawmaker Asad Umar said in a video message.
