President Droupadi Murmu’s Parliament address focuses on Amrit Kaal

 

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the joint session of Parliament, Focusing on ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. In her maiden address to the joint sitting of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha President Murmu said, “India has entered Amrit Kaal completing its 75 years of Independence.

To mention Amrit Kaal is a period of 100 years of Independence and the making of a developed India. These 25 years is a period for all citizens to focus on duty.”

Here are some of President Droupadi Murmu’s highlighted key points:

“Government striving to get rid of every sign of slavery, an example is change of name from Rajpath to Kartavya Path.”

“Government has ensured there is no restriction for women in any field of work. Today we are seeing the success of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign; for first time in India, number of women is more than men.”

“Priority of my govt is 11 crore small farmers who were for decades deprived of government benefits.”

“Government has always kept country’s interest paramount, showed will to change policy and strategy completely.”

“Earlier, there was a long wait for a tax refund. Today, a refund is received within a few days of filing Income Tax Return.”

“Indian Railways fast moving towards becoming world’s largest electric railway network.”

“India has changed thinking that progress and nature can’t go together, govt focusing on ‘green growth’.”

Also, after president Droupadi Murmu’s address, the budget session is set to begin. The session will have 27 sittings and conclude on April 6, with a month-long recess between February 13 and March 12. Eight previous parliament sessions in a row since March 2020 have been cut short due to disruptions.
