US House bans Tik-Tok from all official Devices.

The massively popular short video-making Chinese app is banned from the US House of Representatives-managed devices/official devices. Noting the “number of security risks,” US House hirelings have been banned from downloading TikTok on House/official devices and must delete the app from any mobile device onto which it is currently downloaded, according to a memo from House Chief Administrative Officer Catherine Szpindor.

The app(Tik-Tok) is considered “high risk due to a number of security issues,” the House’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) said in a message sent to all lawmakers and staff on Tuesday and must be deleted from all the official devices managed by the House.

TikTok has faced growing concerns over national security due to Chinese parent company ByteDance, as per the CBS News report. US officials have repeatedly said that the Chinese government could ask the company to share the data it gathers on its users.

“We do have national security concerns,” CBS News quoted FBI Director Christopher Wray said.

“They include the possibility that the Chinese government could use it to control data collection on millions of users,” Christopher Wray added.
